That's a good question. Calling the manufacturer might be the best option. It's probably from heating oil's. I were to try.....I would suggest trying Barkeepers friend.

The plastic seems to yellow over time and they may have to be replaced. I would try a magic eraser - WITH the power turned off.

Hi! Remove them, since electricity and water don't mix well. If it won't come off with Bartender's Friend and a magic eraser, you could paint them or replace them. Good luck and stay safe!

Turn the power off. A cup of vinegar to one gallon hot water. Dip a cloth in the mixture and wring out till just damp. Scrub away.

Hi Lynn: Perhaps a bit of white vinegar on a magic eraser will do the trick. Don't rub hard, just lightly and then rinse. Is it on the wall or the plug in? It may just be time to buy a new plug in if it's on that.

Sounds as though they are old and want replacing, unless they are dirty, then wipe them over with a Wet Wipe!

Sometimes the color change is from aging plastic. If this is the case it may be best to replace them.

I have a plug-in in my kitchen that gets a green stain around the holes where the plug goes. I just take a magic eraser, lightly, lightly dampened, to get the green stain off. Don't know what causes it...only one does this. After I clean it, it will appear about six months later....maybe cooking vapors...I don't know.

So the stains have transferred from the Wallflowers Plug-ins to your actual electrical outlets?

I read they're made with Essential Oils, so a little soap would be necessary in breaking down the oil.

Backing up though, I'd take a picture of what's going on and return them to Bath & Body Works, since they're new.

They shouldn't be doing this.

Return them to B & BW, they sound defective and may not be heating to the right temperature. Let them diagnose the problem and give you your money back or if you are comfortable enough with their product, replace them...store credit would be another good option.
